Martin F. McKeay
Illustrious Grand Master's Message
2010-2011

It is with great pleasure and honor to serve as the Grand Master for the Grand Council of the State of California.  My Father, Robert J. McKeay was the Right Illustrious Grand Master in 1977.  This will be the first time that a son has followed his Father into a Grand Council position in this state for 150 years.  My Father would have been very proud.
Jacki, my endearing wife, and I will be traveling for the year spreading the affection of the Masonic fraternity and expounding the extraordinary advancements the Grand Council’s chosen charity, Cryptic Masons Medical Research Foundation, has accomplished.  C.M.M.R.F. does   research to relieve the effects of atherosclerosis through vascular biology.
This year the Grand Council of California is celebrating its 150th anniversary.  The formation of Grand Council began in 1860.  Sacramento Council began around 1857 with a dispensation from the Grand Council of Tennessee and became the first council on the roll of the California Grand Council.
Our theme for the year will be the basic tenets of Masonry; Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. Which means to me: kindness and consideration to all relieve to those who suffer, and to be forth right in striving for enlightenment.
Jacki and I look forward to the many places we will visit, the many wonderful people we will meet, and the new friendships we will form.

Fraternally,
Martin F. McKeay KYGCH
Right Illustrious Grand Master
